The below "Family Membership Application" is Free. This is the first step in the application process to become a member of Union Sailing Club. A USC board member will review your application and reach out to you via email if they have any questions. Once approved, you will receive an email with further instructions to activate your approved membership. The Annual membership at USC is due after application approval.
Here are a few things you need to know about membership:
- The annual (calendar year) membership fee is $75 (not refundable).
- Membership is from January 1st to December 31st of each year, regardless of when the membership was paid. Renew your membership on your member profile by January 1st of each year.
- A membership shall encompass a family, that is all persons residing at a single address
- All members and visitors are required to purchase a daily Admission Pass or Annual Pass for each vehicle and boat. Passes can be purchased at the entrance to the city park on the west side of the lake. Annual passes are per calendar year.
- Members are subject to the rules and regulations of the City of Longmont/Union Reservoir, including swimming at swim beach only during posted hours, dogs must be on a leash, and no alcohol in the park at any times. We must also respect the posted park hours. No park access after posted time. More information at LongmontColorado.gov.

Here are a few things to know about the club:
- Our ramp is hand launch only. No vehicles on the ramp at any time.
- Union Reservoir is a “No Wake” lake. It is 30 feet at its deepest point. Otherwise it is quite shallow around the periphery.
- All boats are required to be inspected for Zebra mussels at the city inspection station before being brought into the club.
- Racing is a big part of the club, and we also sponsor regattas, social events, youth activities and sailing education and on the water clinics. Those racing are asked to volunteer for race committee at least 1 time per 5 times raced. Signup is done through the website. There are clinics to learn how to do race committee and experienced people are very open to training others. We know that people cannot make every week of racing so our scoring system is designed to accommodate this. Racing on Sunday afternoons April through September and also Wednesday evenings from May to September.
- Boat rentals are available to MEMBERS ONLY with substantial prior sailing experience who have gone through a checkout and orientation. Checkout information and process will be provided to paid approved members. Beginner sailors may need to take sailing lessons to gain sufficient experience to rent club boats. Check outs are scheduled based on volunteer availability.
Here are a few things to know about boat storage:
- Storage fees are $375 per calendar year for dolly storage or $100 per calendar year for a rack space.
- Boat storage is for members only and is available per calendar year.
- All dolly storage spaces require a boat sticker per boat and at least one car season pass per calendar year.
