UNION SAILING CLUB |
Union Sailing Club was founded by a group of sailors in 2004 who met on the city side of the reservoir each Wednesday night to race and socialize. Many of the ideals that our club was founded on were born out of the camaraderie developed while enjoying a beverage after racing that first year.
Those founding principles are known as USC's four C's.
Community - give something back
Camaraderie - foster an atmosphere of friendship
Coaching - help other sailors become better sailors
Competition - provide a safe, fun environment for dinghy racing
USC members back in the day on the city side..
The first agreement with the City of Longmont to host the club on the eastern shore was in 2006. Before that we used the C15 fleet’s shed, passed the hat and bought the green RC boat for $300 and sailed from the ramp on the city side.
