Fleets

Union Sailing Club has a number of active fleets.  Please visit each fleet page to learn more about that particular fleet and for links to regional and national fleet pages. 

Boats are scored in two large racing fleets at Union Sailing Club.  The "one-design" LMS fleet, which consists of Lasers, Mutineers and Snipes.  The LMS fleet races without the use of a handicap and is scored using the low point system. The second fleet is the Portsmouth Handicap Fleet, in which all other types of boats are scored based on a handicapping system.  Finns, MC Scows, Melges 15, Melges 14, and Sunfishes usually make up the bulk of the Portsmouth Fleet.
