ILCA/Laser

Come join the USC ILCA Fleet!  It’s inexpensive, easy to rig, easy to launch, and a great learning platform for all skill levels. Not surprisingly, the ILCA fleet is one of the most active fleets at the club, with 5-12 boats showing up regularly for Wednesday evening and Sunday afternoon races. Always someone to race against!  Want more racing than just club racing? USC hosts an annual regatta that often draws as many as 20 boats. And, of course, there are tons of regattas happening all the time in North America and beyond.

Our fleet includes a wide range of participants, from  juniors up through masters sailors in their 70s. We also have a number of women sailors. It’s all right here, at USC!

Interested but not yet ready to purchase a boat?  USC has ILCAs that can be inexpensively chartered by the hour. Check one out and see what all the fun is all about!  Charter details are here: https://www.unionsailingclub.org/rental/info

If you'd like to be added to the fleet mailing list, learn about availability of boats for purchase, or anything else ILCA related, contact USC ILCA fleet captain, Dave Powlison:  dave.powlison@gmail.com

Union Sailing Club ILCA Dinghy Perpetual Trophy

Will be awarded to the top scoring ILCA dinghy for the total of club’s Sunday and Wednesday series races.  As defined in the club’s NOR, rule 13.2, for every three (3) races completed per series, a successively worst score will be thrown out.
